Boulder Fire : Colorado Wildfire News – Residents in Boulder County, Colorado near Gold Hill are being evacuated in droves as firefighters attempt to put out a wildfire gone out of control.
The fire started this morning around 10AM, and the cause isn’t clear. However, high winds turned it from a small brush fire to a wide-sweeping issue that is growing more and more by the hour.
It has gotten so bad, and is spreading so quickly, that firefighters have been unable to get ahead of it to curtail progression. They are unsure of when they will be able to get a fire line ahead of it.
There have been no deaths reported, but a great deal of property has been destroyed, including at least one business and a fire truck. It is not known how many acres it has spanned, or if any homes have yet been in the way of the spread.
To be on the safe side, hundreds of people have been evacuated from their houses and sent deeper into the county, where a recreation center has been adapted to hold families. An animal shelter has also been created to keep track of pets.
