korie lucious

Michigan State head coach Tom Izzo has dismissed Korie Lucious from the team for "conduct detrimental to the team." The dismissal serves as more of a suspension, and Izzo only mentioned that Lucious would be away from the team for the remainder of the season. Lucious had been suspended earlier in the season after a reckless driving charge, but it's unknown whether his dismissal is related in any way.

According to MLive.com, Lucious was quoted as saying he let down his team with the actions led to his punishment on Tuesday.

"Unfortunately, I let my teammates, my coaches, and myself down, and wish them the best for the season," he was quoted as saying.

Lucious was averaging 6.5 points and 4.1 assists in 24.4 minutes per game this season. Though he typically came off the bench, Lucious was a big part of the rotation for the Spartans. He last played on Jan. 22, scoring six points in 23 minutes in a 86-77 loss to the Purdue Boilermakers.
